Probable starting eleven: Hertha: Kraft - Morales, Hubnik, Mijatovic, Kobiashvili - Ottl, Niemeyer - Ebert, Raffael, Ramos - Lasogga Borussia M: M.ter Stegen - Jantschke, Brouwers, Dante, Daems - Nordtveit, Neustädter - Herrmann, Arango - Reus, Hanke I believe this is gonna be a low efficient match. There is three reasons for my pick. First of all, the bad weather. It is very cold in Germany, the pitch will most probably be frozen and the players will have problem to control the ball. We can't expect something special in situation like this. In the similar circumstances, both team played not efficient matches this weekend. Hertha lost 0:1 from Hannover, while Gladbach played a goalless draw with Wolfsburg. The second reason for my pick is connect with the absences in the home team. The coach Michael Skibbe will be missing Lell, Franz and Morales due to injuries, while Ramos and Niemeyer are doubtful. On other side Gladbach coach Favre has almost all players available. Finally, this match is not important for Hertha. They are just two points clear of relegation zone and I think coach Skibbe thinks more about Bundesliga then cup. At this point I will also mention that the last mutual match played in Berlin on 23.01.2010 ended with Under 2.5 goals. In fact, that match ended with goalless draw. |

Probable starting eleven: Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Gerrard, Spearing, Adam, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy Tottenham: Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto, Krancjar, Parker, Modric, Livermore, Bale, Adebayor Luis Suarez is back for Liverpool. It is a big boost for the hosts, but don't forget Suarez is without a match for more then a month. I am sure he need some time to enter the right form. So, the manager Kenny Dalglish has almost all players available now, only Lucas is out with a cruciate ligament injury. On other side Harry Redknapp has some injury doubts on Rafael van der Vaart, Kyle Walker, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon. Both teams are in similar form at the moment. Interesting, both teams had one victory, one draw and one defeat in the last three Premier league matches. Here are the results: 31.01. Wolves - Liverpool 0:3 21.01. Bolton - Liverpool 3:1 14.01. Liverpool - Stoke 0:0 ------------------------------------------------------ 31.01. Tottenham - Wigan 3:1 22.01. Manchester City - Tottenham 3:2 14.01. Tottenham - Wolves 1:1 What can we expect from this match? Well, I don't see a clear favorite. Liverpool have the home advantage, but Liverpool failed to win 7 times at Anfield. The draws against Manchester City and Manchester United should not be considered as bad results, but the draws against Stoke, Blackburn, Swansea, Norwich and Sunderland disappointed the fans. Tottenham have an excellent record against Liverpool in the last period, winning the last three matches. They won 4:0 at White Hart Lane this season, on 18.09.2011, and they won both games last season - 2:1 at home and 2:0 at Anfield. Still, I believe this match will finish with a draw. |

Probable starting eleven: Roma: Stekelenburg, Rosi, Juan, Heinze, Taddei, Gago, De Rossi, Pjanic, Totti, Borini, Lamela Inter: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Chivu, Zanetti, Poli, Cambiasso, Nagatomo, Sneijder, Milito I expect an interesting and efficient match at Olimpico. But when the victory is in question, I think Roma is closer. First of all, they have the home advantage. In situation like this it is an important factor. The pitch and weather conditions will probably be bad, so the home players are more familiar with that. Inter already played against Palermo in similar conditions and received four goals. Both Lucio and Samuel had a problem playing on frozen pitch, they were slow and Miccoli scored three goals and created many chances. Roma coach Luis Enrique has almost all players available, only Pablo Osvaldo is sidelined. It is important to be mentioned that De Rossi is returning. I rate his presence as a very important factor. Inter coach Claudio Ranieri has bigger problems. Alvarez and Stankovic are out, just as the new acquisition Guarin, while Forlan and Sneijder are rated as doubtful. Considering all previous mentioned facts I believe Roma will win. |
