England will be looking to secure back-to-back major tournament semi-finals when they face Ukraine in the Euro 2020 quarter-final in Rome on Saturday night. The Three Lions were given an interesting group alongside Croatia, Scotland and Czech Republic and they came through it unscathed, beating Croatia and Czech Republic 1-0 while drawing with Scotland, Their prize for that was a clash with old rivals Germany at Wembley and they came through, beating Germany 2-0 to set up this trip to Rome.

Ukraine were also placed in an interesting group, alongside North Macedonia, Austria and Netherlands. They qualified as one of the best third-placed sides. Ukraine then won the battle of the blue and yellows in the last-16, beating Sweden 2-1 after extra-time thanks to a dramatic last-minute goal.

This will be just the eighth meeting between England and Ukraine, and the second at a major tournament. After winning the first three matches between these two sides, England have managed just one victory from the past four, including one defeat – though that sole victory came at Euro 2012.
