Scotland – Czech Republic

A long 23-year wait will come to an end today as Scotland return to a major tournament when they Czech Republic. The added bonus of this match being at Hampden Park gives Steve Clarke’s side to have the perfect chance to start this campaign right with a win. The match will be Scotland’s first major international tournament since the 1998 World Cup and first European Championship since 1996 – when they faced England in the group stage too.

Czech Republic reached EURO 2020 having finished second behind Group D rivals England in their qualifying group, although Jaroslav Silhavy’s men recorded a 2-1 victory over the Three Lions in the process. Silhavy will have to do without regular starter Lukas Provod at the tournament due to injury.

Scotland have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four EURO final tournament matches, while Czech Republic have failed to score in three of their last four fixtures. Our prediction is for under 2,5 goals in the game.

This match will be played on 14/06/2021 at 16:00.
