Dijon – Sochaux

Dijon begin their bid to secure an immediate return to the French top flight on Monday with a home game against Sochaux in Ligue 2. Les Hiboux finished rock bottom of Ligue 1 last season but are among the favourites for the title this season, while Sochaux finished seventh in Ligue 2 and were 13 points adrift of the play-off places.

Sochaux were fairly strong on their travels last season and just about had a better away record than they did at home, with 26 of their 51 points coming on the road. Les Lionceaux only lost five away games and three of those came at the end of the season when promotion was already out of reach.

Sochaux managed six wins and eight draws on their travels last season and we feel they have a good chance here in the double chance market against a Dijon outfit who may take a while to shake off their relegation hangover and a winless pre-season.
