Everton are reeling from yet another loss, this time against newly promoted side Brentford. They are set for an even tougher encounter as they play host to Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby. Everton head into this game with 15 points, in 14th place while Liverpool are third with 28 points. The contrast in performances between these two sides is so clear; Everton are doing really badly. They go into this game without a goal in the last three matches and in the last 10, they have one win only.
Liverpool recovered from their loss to West Ham and have responded well in both the Premier League and Champions League. The Reds have three straight wins, and scored 10 goals in the three matches. In each of their last 17 matches, Liverpool have scored at least twice. They have four clean sheets in their last five matches.
Everton have the advantage of playing at home but lately this hasn’t counted. We don’t think it will count here either. Liverpool have done well and have a good balance in defence and attack. Everton aren’t scoring goals and their defence is also poor. Go for Liverpool to win both halves.
