An interesting match-up is on the cards this weekend; Liverpool plays host to Aston Villa in the Premier League in a game that will see Steven Gerrard the Villa manager return to where his trade was nurtured. Going to the game Liverpool are second in the standings of 34 points, while Villa have managed 19 points so far.
Steven Gerrard has transformed Villa and after getting into the top half he will want to pull a fast one on his former team. He has won three of his four matches in charge and his only loss so far has been against league leaders Manchester City. In the last game, Gerrard beat his former manager and here he will be targeting the man who gave him his first coaching experience. It will definitely be an emotional game for Gerrard but it is the three points that will matter most.
Liverpool have been scoring a lot lately, and they face an Aston Villa side also on a good scoring run. Both sides have their motivations to win this game but Liverpool will be favorites, by the fact they play at home, and they are in a much better form. The expectation is that both sides will go for the kill and backing this to produce over 2.5 goals looks good. There’s also the Mohamed Salah factor; he is having a great season, with 13 league goals already, and his form against Villa is great too so we will back him to score first.
