South Africa host Uganda in an international friendly at the FNB Stadium on Thursday. Both teams will look to put behind them their disappointing AFCON qualifying campaigns, where they finished third in their respective groups. South Africa were denied a place in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-0 loss to Sudan on March 28. They have only lost one friendly at home turf since June 2017, but that loss came in their most recent one against Zambia.
Like South Africa, Uganda went into their final AFCON qualifier in control of their own destiny, but they failed to get over the line. They managed to pick up only a point in their last three games.
Our prediction is for a draw and under 2,5 goals.
