Real Madrid have hit top form and will be out to complete their group stage run with a win against visiting Inter Milan. The two giants face off with nothing much to play for; they will be advancing from Group D; Real are top with 12 points and Inter second on 10 points. Real Madrid head into this game straight from a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad. They beat Inter 1-0 away in the first meeting in this group then suffered a shock home loss at the hands of Sheriff. They have won each of the three games that followed that loss and going to this one, each of their last four matches in this competition have produced over 2.5 goals.
Just like Real Madrid, Inter are unbeaten in 11 matches. Going into this game, they’ve really improved in defence, keeping four straight clean sheets. Away from home, they have four wins in the last five matches and with three straight wins in the Champions League, they will be very confident heading to this clash.
These two sides don’t have much to play for but the winner here will finish top of the group. They’ve both secured second round berths and with tough league outings on the horizon, they will be tempted to rest key players.
